Wild Dance

Wolkenstein II/Matcho x/Goldstein

Wild Dance a 16.2 hh Hanoverian Grand Prix performer with many wins and placings and multiple offspring at Grand Prix Level. Winner of the 100-day stallion testing in Germany with over 140 points! Over 147 points in dressage/ridability. Although he is a fantastic mover, he also received a 9 on jumping. Wild Dance is by one of the best Weltmeyer sons, Wolkenstein II, out of a States Premium mare by Matcho AA. This bloodline combination has proven exceptional. Leoni Bramall and Hubertus Schmidt both publicly stated that Wild Dance has an exceptional temperament and willingness to work. He is a good candidate to refine heavier warmblood mares and add movement and suspension to the gaits.

Wild Dance is nothing short of breathtaking. With elastic movement, natural balance and self-carriage, he is a dream. He placed fourth in the German National Championship as a young horse. His father, Wolkenstein II, was also the winner of his stallion performance testing and went on to sire 41 licensed sons.

Wild Dance who placed fourth in the Bundeschampionat as a youngster, has an impressive FEI show record. In 2005, with Hubertus Schmidt, he was the Reserve Champion at the 2005 Neurenberger BurgPokal Finals, a prestigious show circuit in Germany for seven to nine year old dressage horses competing at Prix St. Georges. Wild Dance and rider Hubertus Schmidt had the highest qualifying scores, routinely scoring above 75%.

Due to his focus on performance in Germany and lack of breeding interest by his owners, Wild Dance did not keep a heavy breeding schedule, however, his offspring statistics still had a remarkable start. In 2011, Wild Dance had less than 50 offspring because of his owners focus on performance. Yet with only 24 offspring registered in competition 10 had successes and 4 placing at Grand Prix Level in 2011. “Will Be” placed at Grand Prix already as a seven-year-old and by 2011 had 43 placings and 9 victories. Seven mares became States Premium mares in Germany. In the U.S. he bred only a handful of mares but produced the top-scoring Premium colt nationwide for the Oldenburg N.A. and Wild Gamboled HU became an Elite Mare Candidate. Mare, ”Deyonce” (Wild Dance/Contucci) became one of only three Swedish Diploma mares in 2011. Since then Wild Dance has sired many top scoring foals and mares as well horses who have gone on to be successful Eventers and Hunters as well as Dressage horses.

In 2020 mare, Wild Ivy upgraded and Walkyra became Premium Eligible by passing their MPT. Christiane Noelting had the top colt by Wild Dance at the 2020 WSS OLDNA inspection and Michele Vaughn’s Wild Dance was the top foal at the 2020 SVE AHS inspection as well as a Gold Medal winner.
