Worthy Opponent VE

Waikiki / Hohenstein / Archipel

Worthy Opponent VE, 16.1 ½ hh, is an imported Hanoverian Stallion with multiple studbook approvals, a successful career through Advanced Level Eventing and versatile offspring successfully competing in Dressage thru PSG, FEI Eventers and Hunter/Jumpers.

Based on pedigree, Worthy Opponent was bred to be a fabulous dressage stallion. With three wonderful gaits, he demonstrated his Dressage abilities with consistent scores in the 70s, however he excelled in eventing, almost always the leader after the dressage phase. He has shown himself to be an extremely versatile stallion, with good jumping form, talent and technique that rivals those bred for the jumper ring. Worthy Opponent was Reserve Champion of his 100-Day Test Stallion Test where he received comments from the judges and test riders on his incredible elasticity, adjustability and rideability.  Scoring an impressive 135.2 overall, with five “9’s” for Character, Temperament, Canter, Jumping Aptitude and Ability to Work.  His high score earned him the High Scoring Hanoverian award as well as the winner of the jumping portion of the test.  That rideability coupled with his athleticism took him through a successful three-day eventing career competing to Advanced Level Eventing with Professional Dana Estes and was also ridden by an amature. Worthy Opponents success in eventing was recognized by the American Hanoverian Society who named him Horse of the Year (HOY) for Intermediate Level Eventing 2014, HOY for Preliminary level for 2010, 2011 HOY Preliminary Reserve, 2013 HOY Intermediate Reserve. Additionally Worthy Opponent was the highest-scoring stallion over fences at both the Hanoverian and Oldenburg N.A. inspections in 2007.  Worthy Opponent tops off this multifaceted athletic package with a fabulous disposition, temperament and rideability.
